Before start, make sure you have done the following:

Connection Requirements:

  1. Switch to Business Account

Your brand needs to have a Business Account: If you are still using a personal you need to switch to a Professional Account

  1. Connect Instagram Business account to Business Facebook Page: A Business Facebook page is a must, if you don't have one, create a new page.

When the connection is completed you should see your Instagram account as shown:

The next step is to turn on the "Allow access to messages" in your Instagram app, follow steps 1 to 5 as shown below:

  1. From the Instagram App, go to your account profile, and click on the hamburger Menu, in the top right corner, when the options show up, click on → Settings

2. Settings → Privacy

  1. Settings → Privacy → Interactions → Messages

  1. Settings → Privacy → Interactions → Messages → Allow Connected Tools” access to messages

Connect Instagram to Shopp.ai

  1. From your workspace dashboard, on the left menu, go to All Bots → Facebook to connect your Business Facebook Page first

⚠️ You’re going to be asked to log in on Facebook from your Personal User, the one that is the owner/admin of the Business Pages and Accounts you are trying to connect,

  1. Facebook will ask you to link the “Chatbot App” to your Facebook, if you have already linked the app previously you will see two options:

    • Edit Settings: Click here if you want to add/edit/remove pages or accounts from the Chatbot App

    • Continue as “Your User Name”: Click here if you want to continue with the settings and pages you’ve already added

    • Log in to another account: click here if you want to change the Facebook User to a different one (Personal User has to be the Owner or Administrator of the Page you want to link) to the Chatbot App

  1. Facebook will ask you to select the Instagram Business Accounts, you want to link to the Chatbot App, select the accounts you want to connect, and hit “Next”

  1. Facebook will ask you to select the Facebook Business Pages you want to link to the Chatbot App, select the accounts you want to connect, and hit “Next”

  1. And finally, Facebook will ask you, " What is “Chatbot App” allowed to do? With the specific Instagram accounts and Facebook Pages, you have selected.

Once you complete Facebook internal permissions to link your pages and linked Instagram accounts to the Chatbot App by clicking on “Done” you will be redirected to your workspace dashboard and you'll see your Facebook Page, listed as “Active” as shown below:

Once your Business Facebook page is connected, from the left side menu, go to Bots--> Instagram channel and you'll see your Instagram Business account also connected and listed as active,

Connect Instagram to your Omnichannel bot

  1. From your workspace dashboard, go to Omnichannel, if you created a new Omni Channel Bot first, you will see the Webchat already connected,

  1. You will have to select the Instagram account you want to link by clicking on it:

  1. To link the Instagram channel to your Omnichannel bot, you will have to confirm by typing in “LINK” and click on “Yes, Confirm” button,

⚠️ If you already have bot users on the Instagram bot separately, this will remove them permanently, to avoid this, always connect your Instagram account directly to your Omnichannel bot before you launch it. ⚠️

  1. Once you confirm the connection, you should see Instagram linked to your omnichannel bot as shown below:

You can Unlink any channel from the Omni Channel Bot by just clicking on the “Unlink” button on the right side of each channel.
